More than 20 years
ago, Aitchison was the first company in the world to design
and build a tow behind fertiliser spreader for ATV bikes.
The SNG460 has a
hopper size of 460 litres (16.2 cu ft) For example that roughly equates to
360kg (794lbs) of granulated urea.
The polyethylene hopper is square shaped, and biased toward
the drawbar. This means that even when the hopper is full it still has a low
centre of gravity which makes it more stable and safe for towing behind a quad
bike.
The SNG/R 460 has a hinged lid , mudguards and swivel drawbar.
It has a fully galvanised frame for better
corrosion resistance and durability and incorporates a cradle to support the
hopper firmly. The frame is extra wide and this, along with the standard wide
flotation tyres gives that 'all important' extra stability on undulating
terrain.
The drawbar has two settings which enables the
spreader to be set up level on the bike, thereby producing an optimal spreading
pattern.
Fertiliser contact componentry is stainless steel
for durability. This includes the hinges on the moulded lid, the aperture
setting mechanism, and the spinner disc including the agitator and the hand adjustable
vanes. The adjustable vanes enable the operator to bias the spread from one
side to the other or alter the spreading width. This option is unique to the Aitchison Agrispred range.
Available in two options, (both ground driven), the
SNG460 is manually engaged using a
locating pin whilst the SNGR460 has
a remote shut-off via a clutch mechanism.
