The Reese Heli Wrapper is a unique patented machine that is designed for the larger farmer or contractor. It is a tractor mounted continuous tube bale wrapper designed primarily for round bales. Quick to set up and easy to operate it needs only a tractor capable of transporting the 840kg (1850lbs) weight by cat II 3 point linkage.

This machine uses the tractors hydraulic system as its power source and can be operated with pretty much any tractor. To operate the machine the only requirement is that the tractor can deliver a hydraulic oil flow of 14L/min (3gpm) @ 1500psi minimum. The Reese Heli Wrapper is a cost effective quality tool that has been developed to efficiently wrap hay and silage bales with minimum input.

It's quick and simple to set up, just locate your position, i.e. along a fence line. Pull one pin, move the machine forward and back so it comes along- side, drop the pin back in, fold down the tail ramp and you're ready to go. It's that easy.

The key to simple operation of the machine is one small hydraulic control block.

There are two easy to use controls, a switch that pre-loads the oil pressure required so that when in normal operation and the ram is pushing the bale hard up against the next bale (with up to 20 tonnes of thrust,) it is set so that just before the tractor is pushed forward by the ram the hoop starts turning. This setting needs only to be set once for operating the machine.

The other control switches the by-pass in or out. In position two, the hoop will turn regardless of load on the ram. NB In both positions the ram must move to activate the wrapping hoop.

For soft centred bales the T bar is used so the push is across the whole bale. With a hard centred bale only the centre plate should be used.

As the hydraulic pressure builds up the Reese Heli Wrapper and tractor move forward when the bales are forced through the wrapping hoop by the hydraulic ram.

Heli-Wrapper utilises two pre-tensioners (dispensers) set for the standard 750mm (30") rolls of 55% stretch plastic. Optional tensioner rollers are available for those using 30% stretch plastic. The plastic film passes over the two tension rollers and as the tube rotates the film is unrolled and pre-stretched as the bale is wrapped.

Because the pusher ram speed is linked to hoop rotation it is simple to select the desired number of plastic layers from between two to eight and be assured of accuracy.

There are no electronics or complicated adjustments common to most wrappers and the few moving parts ensure low maintenance, which can be carried out by the operator without special tools.

Heli-Wrapper is capable of wrapping up to 90 bales /hr., uses only 50% of the plastic compared to individually wrapped bales, and it is very competitively priced.
